IceCube Update on Neutrino Astronomy and Dark Matter
In a paper published this month in the New Journal of Physics, available online now here, astronomers of the IceCube neutrino observatory located at the South Pole (still under construction) discuss the latest results from the partially completed neutrino detector at the South Pole called IceCube. This New Journal of Physics article is very readable and presents an excellent overview of neutrino astronomy in general and the IceCube detector specifically. There is also an approachable discussion of the effects that neutrino astronomers hope to have on the search for dark matter especially those constituents known as WIMPS.
