ESA Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Ariane Booster
Yesterday, the European Space Agency (ESA), Arianespace and CNES (French space agency) celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Ariane rocket booster with a film displayed in the center of Paris on a large outdoor screen. ESA Announces Launch Dates for Planck and Herschel
The European Space Agency (ESA) announced today that it will launch the Herschel and Planck telescopes on 6 May 2009. The Herschel telescope will be the largest of its kind and is sensitive in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The Planck telescope is a microwave telescope that will be launched on the same Arianespace launch vehicle as Herschel.
