ESA Scientists Use Multiple Satellites to Study Coronal Mass Ejection
The European Space Agency (ESA) announced today that its scientists have utilized a combination of six satellites (including Cluster and Double Star assets) to observe the effects of a coronal mass ejection (CME) and solar flare (both called extreme solar events) on the magnetosphere of the Earth. This could lead to a better understanding, and forecasting, of how these solar events can interfere with the operations of Earth orbiting satellites and our power grid. Learn more about the analysis online now here.
