NASA Tracks Hurricane Alex with TRMM Satellite

NASA’s Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission satellite (TRMM) has been monitoring the hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico now called Alex. The TRMM satellite was specifically designed to measure precipitation in the tropics region of Earth. It has been in orbit since its launch on 27 November 1997.

NASA Releases New Satellite Image of Oil Spill

Today NASA released an image of the Gulf of Mexico taken from its Terra satellite by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). The image released today was taken Saturday 19 June 2010. Check out the MODIS image of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, online now here.

ESA’s Envisat Provides View of Gulf of Mexico Oil
